To protect and safeguard the environment, and the residential and rural communities of Longlea, Junortoun, Strathfieldsaye, Sedgwick and Mandurang, from mining exploration and mining.
Our story
Our story
CARM-Communities Against Residential Mining were formed in early 2025 after finding out about the proposed exploration license EL008505 held by Falcon Metals.
The group is an action group of Bendigo District Environmental Council. BDEC is a long-standing environmental advocacy group.
As an action group of BDEC – CARM is focused on petitioning against the continuation of the mine exploration license held by Falcon Metals over the locality of Strathfieldsaye, Junortoun, Emu Creek, Longlea, Sutton Grange and Mandurang including small portions of Wellsford Forest – an area of 94 square kilometres of semi-rural communities and environments of high flora and fauna value.
