CARM (Communities Against Residential Mining) is dedicated to protecting the environment and the residential and rural communities of Longlea, Junortoun, Strathfieldsaye, Sedgwick and Mandurang from inappropriate mining exploration and mining activities.
We provide clear, accessible information to help residents understand what is proposed, what is happening locally, and what rights communities have under Victorian mining laws. Our goal is to ensure that every resident has the knowledge and support they need to respond confidently to mining exploration in their area.
Raising public awareness about mining exploration in Central Victoria, including EL008505 and other licences.
Stopping inappropriate mining exploration licences in residential and rural‑residential corridors.
Supporting residents with information, resources, and guidance for objections and submissions.
Promoting reassessment of existing and proposed mining licences that threaten homes, habitat, and community wellbeing.
Protecting the environment and calling for repair of mining‑related damage.
Questioning the social licence of mining companies operating near communities.
Strengthening community unity, ensuring residents can stand together to protect their land, health, and future.
Raising awareness of health and wellbeing impacts, including noise, dust, traffic, stress, and environmental harm.
Together, we work to preserve the character, safety, and natural environment of our region — for current residents and future generations.
