We encourage the appreciation of the protection of, and responsibility for, the environment by individuals, organisations and governments, and promote an integrated approach to environmental issues.
Since 1988, we have been lobbying governments local, state and federal, exposing activities such as
the damage caused by logging in native forests, mining and residential development, and requesting
legislation and regulation to protect biodiversity, stop overuse of natural resources and prevent
pollution of land, air and water.
Currently, we are focusing on the impacts of mining on human health and the health of the
environment, inadequate rehabilitation during and after the life of mines, poor management and
damaging exploitation of native forests both legal and illegal, environmentally damaging residential
development and failure to address the causes of climate change.

Our lifestyles, homes, forests, rivers and creeks are under threat from Gold Mining in Central Victoria.
Our aim is to provide the best available information highlighting the current and future potential serious impacts of Gold Mining operations.
Our hope is to provide a safe space for members to communicate and share experiences and concerns regarding the impacts of Gold Mining.
Save the Campaspe believe it is time for Communities to work together to protect where we live and what we love.

Communities around Victoria became aware of a rash of exploratory mining applications and exploratory drilling (primarily for gold) from mid-2020.
Primary concerns are the ineffectiveness of mining regulation, ineffective regulation of environmental/community health & safety and very little rehabilitation once a mine closes.
These communities connected and ARMR was formed – The Alliance for Responsible Mining Regulation.
ARMR is comprised of Victorian communities, mining activists, current/former mining employees and environmental groups.
